OurPact Parental Control: Is It Best 2024?

Similar to Kidslox, OurPact allows you to monitor your child's online activity through its screenshot-capture function. There are 2 options available:

• Periodic View - regularly and automatically captures screenshots of your child's phone
• View-On-Demand - captures and sends real-time screenshots

And all screenshots are saved in its View Gallery for up to two weeks.

This feature stands out because it can capture everything your children do on their phones. However, I encountered a drawback when using the 'view-on-demand' mode – it took more than 5 minutes before I started receiving screenshots on my parent app. This delay left me somewhat disappointed.

2App Management

App management on OurPact enables you to exert control over all apps on your child's phone. You can fully block or set schedules blocking for specific apps. For instance, utilizing the 'Block by Schedule Rule,' you can restrict some apps on your child's phone during specific time.

If your child's using an iOS device, then there is a feature called "App Organizer", which helps your child manage the home screen well. But I think this feature is unnecessary.

3Schedule

OurPact also allows you to schedule your child's online screen time for various activities such as bedtime, mealtime, and reading. Personally, I appreciate that my child's apps are completely removed during the scheduled activity. This effectively eliminates distractions and helps them focus and build healthy habits.

4Screen Time Allowance

Indeed, this feature is similar to the above Schedule feature. This allows you to allocate your child's daily screen time. For example, I allow "2 hours" for my child's phone on Monday. When 2 hours reach, all apps on your child's phone will be blocked.

But to let this feature work, you kid has to press the "Play" button on the OurPact Jr app. This brings us to a question: would your kids let you limit their screen time?

5Web Filtering

Web filtering is a standard feature in many parental control apps, and OurPact is no exception. The OurPact web filtering option restricts your child's access to adult content and any websites you deem unsuitable for your child. I tested it and found that it effectively blocks websites on Chrome and Safari browsers on my child's phone.

However, OurPact Parental Control could improve by including more filter categories, such as Violence, Gambling, Illegal Content, etc.

6Location Tracking

With the live GPS feature, you can keep track of your children's whereabouts as long as their phone is with them. Additionally, this feature allows you to create geofencing zones to ensure your child's safety. What's particularly impressive about this feature is you can access your child's location history for up to 30 days.

However, there are some downsides to this feature. Sometimes, the location display becomes blank. Additionally, the location tracker may not work if your child is on a call.
